How to open a new SSS account in Singapore

Before you open a new account. You have to ensure that you dont have an existing account sa Pinas, kung hindi mgkakaproblema ka later on. Napakahabang proseso para macombine yung old new account. So siguraduhin na wala kang existing SSS.

So for the process, there are two options. Long cut at shortcut.

[Longcut]
1. You must have an SS number (kung wala ka talagang existing sss account). visit the SSS website and access the SS Number Online Issuance facility. Saglit lang to complete the application. Eto ang link https://www.sss.gov.ph/sss/appmanager/viewArticle.jsp?page=SSS Number Online
After ka maissuehan ng sss number. Go to lucky plaza sa gilid ng iremit. DONT Forget your passport. Nandun si Sir Leo just give your sss number sa kanya. He will register your sss account.

[Shortcut]
2. (Easy way) No need to apply ss online sa sss.gov.ph. Go directlty sa Lucky Plaza. Tabi ng iRemit, nandun ang SSS. Then tell them na gusto mo magopen ng new SSS acccount. Again just bring your passport. Pwedeng photocopy lang.

  • nangyari sa akin yan last 2009, They told me na ikakancel ang isang account. Hindi naman kasi ako ininform about it. walang validation sa side ng SSS staff ng Singapore. ang bulok talaga ng sistema ng pinas. dapat may centralize system kung saan nakatali sa passport or any Ids mo yung SSS para malaman kung may existing kang account.
  • Naku hassle nga yan. Pero so far yung sa amin naman eh continous pa from 2006 up to this year.
Bat kasi walang sync of info.

  • @Samantha1 better go and check at SSS office . u can call or email Tel. no.: (65) 6235-5604

2 months processing po then collect the cheque from their office here. Good thing I have a friend na pauwi ng pinas so pinakisuyo ko na lang.

  • Anyone know what would happen kung hindi ka nag contribute ng SSS for like 4 years na?

@Suddenly_Susan, stagnant/ as is lang yung contribution nyo, hindi lang kayo makakapagclaim ng benefits if any (i.e salary loan, maternity, sickness etc) unless hulugan nyo po ulit. like may case i stop for about 7 years, then nung napregnant ako nagstart ulit magcontribute para makaclaim ng maternity. In order to receive monthly pension in future, need po na macomplete yung total 120 contributions. kung di naman po completed yung total 120 contribution you can receive lumpsum amount based on your paid contributions + interest.
