WHAT ARE THE STEPS TO SUCCESSFULLY FIND A JOB IN SG

Hi mga Kabayan especially those na based in SG!

I'm so thankful to have discovered this site. I am here kasi I would like to ask for some tips kung pano mka apply ng work sa Singapore. Ever since, it has always been my dream to work abroad and I find SG to be one of the most convenient as it's very near the Philippines, progressive country, and of course, the money that we can earn.

I already have 6 years of experience sa Customer Care focusing sa Real Estate. I would like to know lang sana kung may chances ba na maka kita ng work sa Singapore with a tourist visa. I know na this is not the ideal way to find work pero if in case, I will take the risk. I hope you can help me find answers and give me some tips. Below po are my queries:

1. How much money do I need to prepare?
Real Estate or any firms na nag oofer ng Customer Serive jobs
3. What are the risks kung tourist visa ang gagamitin?
4. More or less mga ilang days or weeks ang processing ng application?

I am really hoping to hear your answers. This will be of great help po.

Thank you so much in advance!

  • 1. 50k per month, at least 3mos pondo.

    2. sa hanap mong work as CS, waley masyado. and syempre preferred ung marunong ng language nila dito. actually kht saang industry, down lahat.

  • Hi @maya ! Thank you po for this very helpful insights. Since hindi masyadong in demand yung CS, ano po yung work na madaling applyan? Then, mahigpit ba sa medical requirements ang SG? Thank you once again.
  • @hannahkesh have tried online application? study=response
  • @hannahkesh medical? compared sa Pinas and sa Middle East, mas simple ang medical dito. normally, basic check-up, x-ray and blood test (for HIV)
  • Hi @carpejem i tried applying via Jobstreet and LinkedIn but haven't received any feedback yet. Thanks for the response☺
  • Im here in saudi, may mag eentertain kaya sakin employer pag nag apply ako sa Sg huhuhu

Pero yung sister ko nakapag apply sya last year dito.

  • I have been sending online applications to several companies for almost 3 months but I never received any response aside from rejection. Pero hindi naman nawawalan ng pag-asa. Let’s pray and think positive na one day may tatawag sakin for job offer.
  • @alarcon69 make your CV catchy! be patient .
  • korek. if 3mos na at wala nakapansin, improve ur CV.
  • @hannahkesh try mo lagay Singapore address at singapore mobile number sa linkedin at Jobstreet. Baka kasi nakikita nila na you're not staying at SG.

Ex-ofw ako sa SG, I stayed ng halos 6 years sa SG and then I decided na umuwi ng Pilipinas last March of 2017. So ang ginawa ko, I changed my strategy. To make the long story short, nakakuha ulet ako ng work sa SG and pabalik na ako this coming September 2018. Take note, hindi ako gumastos papuntang SG for interviews and di ako gumamit ng address and phone number sa SG.

    PS.

Yung work ko po is into IT Project Management. I am a certified IT Project Manager sa MNC dito sa Pinas. Ang work experience ko sa SG is Telco and Bank pero IT Project Manager po ang posisyon ko. I have 10 years relevant experience sa Project Management and lots of certifications that I have acquired and earned during the course of my career. I ensured na before ako sasabak sa SG, I have to be internationally competitive. I did that by gaining and acquiring the experiences and skill sets that I need in order for me to stand out. I prayed and prayed and prayed and prepared really well for my interviews. I remember during my final interview with the Asia Pacific Head and the VPs last June, I was hired on the spot.

@saxoreca Kasabay nung Contract ko to sign and submit via Email is yung EP Form na need ko rin i-accomplish for my pass application. So after ko mag-sign ng Contract and i-accomplish yung EP Form, I submitted all of the documents na required ko i-sign and then yung documents na need for the EP Application. Ang hiningi lang is Photocopy of my Passport, Transcript and Diploma. I submitted all of that Friday Morning, then my EP Application was processed that same day. After 12 days, I got my EP Approval. So I signed and submitted everything on August 10. My EP Application was submitted by the Company on August 10 as well then got my approval August 22. After my pass approval, I was contacted by the relocation service provider that will handle all my relocation activities to Singapore which includes the shipping of my things and air tickets going to SG. Sinagot ng Company ko lahat ng gastos to have me relocated in Singapore though I will be shouldering the SG-MNL Ticket since I will be going out of the Philippines as a tourist. Hope this helps.

Just to give you a heads up, mas matagal yung panahon na pinag-intay ko para makakuha ako ng Job Offer kesa yung process ng approval ng pass ko. I was hired on the Spot last June 18. Sinabi nila by that time na tanggap na ako and then they will contact me for a Job Offer. After a week, Friday to be exact, nag-email and tumawag HR na pina-process pa rin nila yung Job Offer ko and please give them some time since they need to acquire the required approvals for the offer. I got my Job Offer last July 16. Then I signed the Offer and then after 3 weeks got my Contract together with the EP Application form tapos ayun po Pass Application then Approval.

After that, sobrang dasal ang gawin mo for the Pass Approval. Usually ang nagiging issue sa S-Pass Application is sueldo and quota unlike EP, andami nilang kailangan i-investigate. I hope na maging ok yung sayo. Just Pray po :)
  • Hi @kabo thank you po for the advise. I think I need to revise my CV considering na there's a lot of competitors especially the locals. Thanks once again
  • Hi @kiyoki very insightful advise. Indeed, it takes courage and determination to achieve our goals. So inspiring naman ng journey ninyo. Lucky enough kasi siguro in demand yung IT sa SG ngayon, compared to other jobs like mine. Pero i will still try. Thanks once again
  • Hi @isorn4x will do po. Try and try lng talaga. Will make sending CV's as my hobby na. Who knows
  • Hi @Vincent17 thanks po sa advise. If I may ask, do you have any idea kung ano yung in demand work ngayon sa SG? Thank you po in advance.
  • Hi @nana_cum_vexana wow this is really an inspiring insight from you. Grabe. Prayers can really move mountains talaga. Will surely take all the advises from you. Really appreciate your time and effort sharing your experience to us-aspiring job hunters in SG. Kudos to your determination and patience po

I tried Jobstreet, Indeed, Jobsdb, Monster and other sites po for job hunting, wala po ako natanggap na tawag. Tyaga lang and Dasal. :)
  • Hi @nana_cum_vexana thank you po talaga. You are very helpful. Will definitely do that po:)
  • @nana_cum_vexana thank you for sharing your experience.

btw, Thank you again for your response and it really helps me.
  • @nana_cum_vexana nagemail sakin ngayon yung employer still working padaw yung salary proposal, buti nalang may update medyo kinakabahan kasi ako baka kako nagbago isip nila hehe.

    2. Usually nagke-cater sila sa lokal kasi madami rin silang customers na galing China so usually bilingual CS. try mo ibang customer care aside from real estate.
    5. Padala po sa online as in lahat ng pwede mong maapplyan go lang. Upsell mo sarili mo what makes you stand out from the rest of CS people (wag mo lang ipagmalaki yung neutral accent baka sensitive sila). :)
  • @saxoreca German Company din yung saken kaya don't worry and don't fret, matagal talaga lumabas ang JO. Sa akin nga halos 1 month and a half ang inantay ko para ibigay nila saken yung JO ko.
