College undergrad but 12 years work experience

Magandang umaga mga kababayan. I finally decided to try my luck dyan sa SG. Matagal ko na gusto i try since I was 25 years old. So right now, I am working sa isang magandang company dito sa Pinas for 7 years now (the rest of work experience puro BPO na). I'm a Recruiting Manager. Believe it or not, hindi ako nakatapos ng college. Sinisipagan ko talaga mag work kasi I know with my lack of degree, I need to compensate for something else. But I know hindi ako papasa sa MOM. Any tips for me? Masipag ako like our fellow kababayans :) I already sold my car (kahit di ako nakatapos nakabili ako brand new car, sariling sikap) as additional expense ko dyan. I just want a different environment and a shift in career. Any insights will do. Salamat mga kababayan.

  • Nakasagot nako sa kabilang thread. For me, kung extra money mo lang yung gagastusin mo dito and willing ka mawala yun, go girl. Youll never know hanggat di mo tnatry, malay ntn kht hs grad may chance pala. Pero kung sobrang last money mo na yung dadalhin mo dito, if i were u gagamitin ko nlng un para magaral? Or take courses na magkakacertificate ako na magagamit ko for future plans.

The way ka magkwento, I believe napakaganda ng work na iiwan mo jan sa atin. The fact na nakabili ka ng sasakyan then you sold it to try your luck here, I admire your determination.

Pero kung buong life savings mo yung gagastusin mo, if I were you, I will think twice. The odds are not (really) in your favor.

But who am I to tell you what to do? I've been in that same situation and I can only wish you good luck.

    God bless. :)
  • Kaya nga eh, sayang naman ung work mo.

Good luck po.

This is not to sound negative sa iyo po, but this is a reality here in SG.

Thank you sa replies, no intention of falsifying documents, super scary. @Vincent17 meron ako TOR from college and high school diploma. Sobrang risky talaga ng gagawin ko.. @maya napaisip ako dun sa sabi mo about getting a diploma or a certificate... Ang tigas lang talaga ng ulo ko na gusto ko ng closure at talagang ma reject ako in my face :| I got another call this morning from a direct company there in SG, i have an interview when I get there. Try ko lang, sana palarin. If not, i tried.
Ano pala course mo nung college?
  • @maya Psychology po, and nasa Recruitment ako ngayon. 7 years within HR function, 2 years Recruitment. The job offer is for Recruiting din there. Total years of working, 12. Nandyan ako sa April, hoping to meet fellow pinoys here in pinoysg din hehehe :)
  • April pero may interview schedule kna at this early? Wow. Tesda cert + experience na very rare. Fibre optics engineer naman yun.

Yes @maya and after the phone interview nag send na follow up email. Not an agency din. Sobrang nakakalakas ng loob and made me want to push hard talaga. Pero hindi pa rin ako aasa and magsssend pa rin ako 100 resumes a day paglapag ko dyan. Plus if manghingi ng pera before job offer, alam na scam pala.
So go na yan.. itaya mo na... You gotta be in it, to win it!!! Kung ako gagawin ko, you don't wanna be on your death bed wondering what if.......
  • @JuanDeLaCruz gagawin ko na talaga no turning back na ko kasi nagpaalam na rin ako sa office so unemploymed na ko in 2months haha! Pag hindi ako success gagawin ko sinabi ni @maya , take cert courses and try again. Habang malakas pa! Hehehe.
Check https://services.mom.gov.sg before you try. you would need relevant work experience too
