Hi, first of all, I apologize kung hindi ko nabasa lahat ng topics. As of now, medyo limited lang po ang time to browse due to busy schedule. But I'll be sure to read the topics once I'm available.

For now, I want to apply in Singapore and currently have a very little amount of knowledge on where to start. I saw ads on Jobstreet and started applying for a job.

A little bit of my background. I'm a graduate of Information Technology and currently have 6 years experience in the Telecommunication and Network Operations environment. Hindi po ako mapili sa job as long as IT related at legit.

Any advise on where to start?
-For starters, Is it okay to work under a recruitment agency (Singaporean agency).?
-Should I resign on my job and go straight to Singapore to apply?
-Is there a chance to be called by employers while here on PH and schedule a flight going to Singapore for a face-to-face interview?
-What are the best sites to go job hunting?
-For an experienced candidate, what is the average salary (SGD) for an IT professional?
-If mag-isa lang ako mag-work sa SG. How much should I earn in SGD to survive my everyday needs?
-If you're with Family. How much should I earn in SGD to survive our everyday needs?

Thanks in advance sa mga magbibigay advise. These are highly appreciated at makakatulong sakin in the future.

Cheers!

  • @ce8vl3urqyts kailan mu balak makipag sapalaran ?
  • Where to start basahin mo yung mga trend dito lalo na yung naka sticky madaming post dito na makakatulong sayo about sa IO, how to avoid scams from agency, expenses at job hunting sites. wag ka muna mag resign leave ka lang ng 1 month, may chance naman na makakuha ka ng interview while nasa pinas kapa pero very slight lang kc ang mas pabor sa kanila is yung andito na, average salary for IT related tapos 6 years kana 3k pataas. goodluck!
  • @ce8vl3urqyts hope this helps:
Any advise on where to start?
-For starters, Is it okay to work under a recruitment agency (Singaporean agency).? Seeking agency will be your last resort. It's okay, bit expensive aroung S$5K+.
-Should I resign on my job and go straight to Singapore to apply? mas maganda may ID ka for immigration purpuses, Wag ka munang mag resign, try to take longer leave.
-Is there a chance to be called by employers while here on PH and schedule a flight going to Singapore for a face-to-face interview? Yes, there maybe a chance
-What are the best sites to go job hunting? just google job portals in Singapore
-For an experienced candidate, what is the average salary (SGD) for an IT professional? Depende sa experience mo, try this SAT. https://services.mom.gov.sg/sat/satservlet
-If mag-isa lang ako mag-work sa SG. How much should I earn in SGD to survive my everyday needs? it all depends on your lifestyle. yung entry 2300+ nakakasurvive naman
-If you're with Family. How much should I earn in SGD to survive our everyday needs? 6K plus in order to get them

Thanks in advance sa mga magbibigay advise. These are highly appreciated at makakatulong sakin in the future.
  • magkano ba sinasahod mo dyan sa pinas? meron kabang cert sa networking?

Well sa IT karamihan ng agency walang bayad. idedeploy kalang sa ibang company ang payroll under sa agency mo.
  • @Vincent17 35k lang ako basic ko dito Sir. CCNA R&S lang cert ko, but I'm planning to exam CCNA Security this year.

@carpejem Sir, thanks for answering my questions! :)

@geneFlynn Will do that during my dayoff, thanks Sir.

@brombee Well, maybe next year pa. I still have to gain knowledge about this since mahirap sumabak ng walang armas.

  • @ce8vl3urqyts san ka nga pala titira dun just incase ?

Hi @ce8vl3urqyts Try applying via linkedin. I'm also in the telecoms industry and netops din before going to SG, and I only have 21 months of exp. Luckily, I landed a job in a telco company here as well. Magdadala talaga sa resume mo is your IT certification. Your expected salary should be atleast 4000 SGD. And since you already have your CCNA R&S, better go with CCNP! Good luck!
May attitude problem kasi yun, so mahirap magtanong dun.

@jeffv Nice, swerte mo bro. Ngayon lang kasi ako nakaisip mag SG. The more mas tumatanda, the more na mas dumadami ang gastusin sa buhay hehe. Dati kasi chill lang ako eh.
  • Bro @ce8vl3urqyts, tapusin mo hanggang CCNP level.
Once done, madami ng trabahong naghihintay sayo dito
  • may thread na "network security" ata yon dito..
    search mo nalang bro
  • Thanks sa advice bro @mang_caroy , I'm still working with my certs pa. Hopefully makatulong yun sa future application ko.
  • oo dto talagang kailangan mo mag upgrade ng knowledge pag IT ang field mo
  • I have 3 certs, CCNA, MCP and ITIL + 6 years exp, gusto ko narin magtry pumunta ng SG and hopefully makachamba.

  • @rzaldua with your EXP, you should be applying for a Senior Role! Also to add up, kalaban lang talaga natin dito is mga Locals or Foreigners who are proficient in Mandarin. Usually, hanap ng mga employers is bi-lingual on both english and chinese.
  • @jeffv Thanks sa advice, target ko lang so far is to establish a Job yung sakto lang, kahit hindi Senior but within the 3k range or above.
