  • Thank you @Thina22
Sana po may mga mag-share ng experiences & knowledge nila about this topic. Malaking tulong yun pampalakas ng loob.
  • hi, i have been an admin assistant-admin executive-naging HR admin at Accounts Admin even Document control and Planning executive....roughly you can see the trend in my position kasi based sya sa experience ko...tinapon tapon kasi ako ng mga bosses ko hahaha I wouldn't say it was a bad thing...kasi to be honest, Nursing Degree holder ako pero hindi nakapag practice..so when i landed my first job in SG as Admin Asst, i struggled so much. I won't diss on other nationality as admins kasi no need nmn. From my experience, mahirap ang position since i feel ang bagal ng growth especially if you are in a big company or corporate type. Kaya mas gusto ko sa start up companies. Madami akong gawain pag start up, but it also means, i have a lot of rooms for improvement and usually direct ako sa boss and i like it. Satisfying for me pag naka contribute ako sa company from planning---execution---system development and running..kaya mostly nahawakan ko like document control, administrative duties, accounting dept and HR duties...hindi ako cguru super galing..but madami nga lang akong natutunan since every work na ginagawa ko, i put effort tlga. and i was lucky my bosses liked me and trusted me.
  • hi,
hospitality degree - first job in sg admin exec (SME). usually small company hindi fix yung job scope mo. tinitake advantage nila pag foreigner ka. kahit na maraming work ako dati, nagpapasalamat pa rin ako dahil marami ako natutunan like HR software, accouting software at IT stuff. Now im in a better place with good position and better pay.

just always remember na yung iba mas mahirap pa sa sitwasyon natin so im always thankful and contented to what i have.
  • @Samantha1 and @Gladys. Did you go through an agency? Or dyan na kayo directly nag apply?
  • @lexsanval awa ni lord direct hire ako. d ako nag agency dahil may bayad. may laban naman experience at education ko kaya sumabak.
  • @Samantha1 directly lng din ako..i did not go through the agency din
  • @Samantha1 and @Gladys ahhh ok. So pano po yun nag tourist muna po kayo dyan sa SG? Gano katagal po kayo tumira dyan looking for work? Thanks for the replies :)
  • Also, di po ba mahirap ma hire pag nalaman ng employer na nandito ka lang as a tourist? Or tinutuloy pa rin nila?
  • @lexsanval uu 2012 pa ako dito nag apply as tourist. within 1 month nakahanap sa awa ni lord.

Also, di po ba mahirap ma hire pag nalaman ng employer na nandito ka lang as a tourist? Or tinutuloy pa rin nila?
depende sa employer. minsan yung ibang employer prefer foreigner kasi cheap esp those without exp or not related exp. yung iba naman if may exp ka at in demand yang skills mo abay inaagawan ka talaga ng mga employer tapos ma heheadhunt kapa.

@lexsanval i have been here since 2011. I came here with my parents as permanent resident and same sa sabi ni sis samantha, that time, mejo mabilis pa makahanap ng work..mabango din ang mga Pinoy that time kasi we were known for our good communication skills and initiative..ang naging mahirap lang for me is yung getting a job with better salary offer..kasi although permanent resident ako, i was still considered a foreigner at some point such as educational background and stuff although degree holder ako sa pinas, in Singapore system our degree is only equivalent to their diploma or pre-university certificate..sa line of work kasi nato, many locals are applying..especially now, trend sa Singapore locals ang office-based works..kaya depende lang din sa company if they prefer to hire a local or a foreigner and if they do want to hire a foreigner they are subjected to Singapore Labor regulations.
  • @lexsanval also pala, companies do not really care if you are holding a tourist visa..kasi it would still depend on the government's approval naman..ang mahirap na part kasi if you are a tourist visa at nakahanap ka ng work, work pass applications now can take up to 3-4 weeks or more pa sa iba na need further verification...which means baka maipit ung timeline mo..and you might have to exit singapore while pending pa ung pass application mo.
  • @Gladys and @Samantha1 madaming thank you! Inspiring yung mga sagot nyo. I'm on my 2nd week as AA. And sa nakikita at nararamdaman ko mukhang maeenjoy ko mag-work. Nahihirapan lang ako makipag-usap. Kasi minsan hindi ko sila maintindihan. And nahihiya akong ipaulit feeling ko kasi naiirita sila.
  • Hello po. I would like to seek for some help. Gusto ko po sana mgwork sa SG. I’ve tried online application pero wala pong tumatawag sa kin. ☹️

Salamat
  • Congrats @Mhegz013! Any tips po sa pag apply for admin jobs? We are currently looking and nandito sa SG. May nagrereply naman but always asking about residence status or visa then after wala na reply. hehe.
