  • Chances of a board passer in landing a job in SG

hi @mangyan2301 , congratulations for being one of the board top notchers! Hindi ko alam sa field ng CPA, but hindi nila masyado pinapansin yung board exam sa Pinas, unless mga certification yun from International standards like CISCO, SIX SIGMA, etc. For normal accountancy job, I think you can practice, but being a CPA, need mo mag take ng Singapore local certification. I'm a board passer, though not top notcher (inside the top 100 lang, :D). Nagamit ko lang sya once sa Pinas, then nung dumating ako dito, palagi ko fino-flaunt ung board exam score ko, but never ako tinanong regarding dun. Mas intresado sila sa naging experience ko. Definitely, meron kang edge, but I suggest give it a 2 years experience in Pinas, para you can start strong pag nag apply kna dito sa SG.
  • Job Application

Hi @Yoroshii . We are both engineering field, so been here for 10 yrs. So, tama si carpe, hold on to your job and take a 1 month leave. Say, its a family vacation. From then, madali ka makakalagpas sa IO ng Pinas. Take note of return ticket (4 days return, pra hnd kahina hinala, buy the cheapest return ticket since pamigay na yun) as well as hotel accomodation. You can book agoda na free cancellation. Atleast meron ka ipapakita sa IO. They dont check validity of that, so its safe to use.
Now, you reached SG and begin the application stage. (I trust that you have done application online). The real battle begins. Continue to apply everyday, make sure you dont miss all the channels (Jobstreet, jobsdb, monster, StraitsTimes, Linkedin) and the most impt is to pray. We can just do much. All depends on the Lords plan, so dont lose heart. Have a good mindset, and enjoy SG. Go out and connect with fellow Filipinos. You never know, maybe ur on the same field and can recommend some job opportunity. God bless kabayan and all the best!
  • SPass Approved, IPA printed, pero muntik parin ma-Offload.

Actually @mijolrac madami mga cases na ganyan dito. Kung nakapag backread ka sana, saves u all the hassle. hehe. Welcome to SG!

Mainit ang balitaktakan sa topic na ito ah. hehe.
  • Fly to SG without exit documents by using Travel Agents

Hi @cym , If you are the employer hiring and dont want them to settle papers before flying your prospect employee to SG, the only risk you will have is the Ph IO:
    1. If first time they will travel overseas, high chance that they will be questioned in Ph IO. They should be well-coached before and must answer them with confidence. If all the return ticket and accommodation are properly arranged, it can be a smooth pass, but no one can tell. Be prepared when they will be off-loaded in Ph.

Now, SG IO, I assume that you will already apply for the pass before they fly in, so having IPA is a legal document they can show to SG IO and they can pass immigration without any problem.

I got former colleagues who were hired from Ph but they secured all the documents (POEA, etc) before leaving the country because its their first time to travel. So, its also about the employee you're hiring, if they agree to fly to SG without proper docs. There is always that risk. Hope this helps.
