JOB HUNT 2019 (Tips + Application + Exit Strategy +++) - Part 1

edited April 29 in SG Guide and Tips
Hehe. Medyo marami to kaya kapit lang mga bes! ☺

Tip#1: MAGDASAL.
"Get on your knees and pray,
then get on your feet and work."
-Gordon B. Hinckley

Tip#2: MANALIKSIK.
-Malaking tulong ang pinoysg.net, marami kng matutunan kahit mag back read kalang.

Tip#3: MAGSIGURO.
If ever may tumawag din sa kakilala mo,at maginvite ng interview, magask lng to reschedule the interview ng 1 or 2weeks after. Isuggest kung pwede yung interview is through videocall lang muna via skype,messenger or whatsapp.
-Or kung may kakilala na nagbakasyon sa SG or uuwi, magpabili lang ng SIM, ipaactivate sa SG at iparoaming lang sa pinas para if ever may tumawag ikaw mismo ang makausap ng recruiter. Make sure na may load to para makarecieve ka ng call from SG.
-Gumawa ng accounts sa diff. Sg job portals.
* Jobstreet.sg
* Jobsdb.sg
* Fastjobs.sg (madalas dito F&B industry)
* Jobscentral.sg
* Indeed.sg
* Monster.sg
* Linkedin.sg (eto yung latest at pinakaeffective sa lahat ng job portals para makapag reach out sa company/ recruiter, kasi mkakausap mo sila directly. Para tong facebook ng work/ career ang pinaguusapan )

Tip#4: MAG-IPON.
-Before everything else, prepare your budget. Yes, Php40K-Php50K is enough for 1 month stay sa SG pero hindi pa kasama dito yung ibang pwedeng mangyari na scenarios like if wala kapang work at magexpire na yung social visit pass SVP mo, need magexit sa nearby countries plus yung another 1month stay if ever makapasok ulit. Plus kung magka job offer man at magantay ng In-Principle agreement IPA, need to exit ulit sa nearby countries if sakaling di umabot sa duration ng SVP mo. Plus yung panggastos mo ng another 1month ulit if ever magka IPA at before makatanggap ng sahod. So safe na ipon ay Php120K-Php150K.

Tip#5: MAGHANDA.
-Ihanda ang sarili emotionally (kasi malayo sa pamilya at bayan at yung hirap ng pagaapply), physically (mahirap magkasakit lalo magisa ka lang), financially (magastos, sobra..), mentally (nakakapagod magapply at magisip ng gastos, hehe) at spiritually (stand firm in the faith kahit ano mangyari).
-Kung may work, wag munang magresign (para may babalikan just in case unsuccessful).
Just have faith in God. Kaya nga nila, ikaw pa.☺

Tip#6: MAG-ABANG.
Siguraduhing round trip tickets to for 3-5days only (mas mahabang days, mas tatanungin ni Immigration Officer IO)
-Try to search promo ng mga airlines:
*Singapore airlines (may travel fair sila every january worth Php12.5K ,roundtrip na to, all in with travel tax, complete meal at free 1day admission ticket sa universal studio
*Jetstar (may bundle daw to na rebookable yung ticket, magagamit sakaling magexit at stay for another month, pero di ko natry yung airlines na to)
*Scoot
*PAL
*Airasia
*Cebupac (expect delays,as usual,hehe)

-3hrs yung byahe mnl to sg plus mga 15-30mins from SG changi airport to city center so piliin ang time na convenient. (May iba na pinipili yung mga 4pm onwards para daw hindi na matawagan yung employer or kung sino man to confirm your employment kasi after office hours na to. hehe)
-Base sa mga nabasa ko, yung best month para magapply is 1week after ng chinese new year CNY w/c is every february, kasi maraming job opening gawa ng marami din yung nagischedule ng resignation nila sa CNY dahil sa bonus/ benefits matters. Pero asahan yung matinding kompetensya with other race.
-In my humble opinion, yung hindi naman magandang buwan para magjobhunt is from november to 2nd week of february. Pwera nalang po siguro sa I.T. (in demand kasi talaga yun). Kasi yung november, if ever na di ka pa nakahanap ng work in 1 month at magextend ka ng another month w/c is december, baka masayang lang kasi holiday season to pati ang january. NakavL din mga recruiter. Pero depende parin yan sa diskarte nyo. Kayo bahala. Hehe

Tip#7: IHANDA ANG MGA EPEKTOS

*Passport (minimum of 6mos. Validity from date of travel, di ko lang po to sure)
*Roundtrip Tickets (w/ travel tax)
*ID (from your company or kung unemployed, bahala na kayo dumiskarte,hehe)
Meron din ibang klaseng COE to for travel purposes. Pakigoogle nalang po).
*Leave of Absence Certificate LOA
(Copy to ng approved vL form mo or certificate na nakaleave ka. Pakigoogle nalang po).
*Bank statement of accounts
(Baka hanapin ni IO if may enough money ka to support your travel.
*Credit Card statement of account
(If applicable.
(Recommended: Great madras hotel - nice hotel&service plus malapit kasi to sa little india, rochor mrt at bugis = Php16K divided by 2 = Php8K for 5days stay)
*Tours (book thru klook.com kasi may discounts like sa 1day hopper bus, artscience museum, garden by the bay flower dome,cloud forest at OCBC supertrees = Php5K lahat)
*DIY itinerary (gawa lang itinerary just in case hanapan ni IO. Pakigoogle nalang po. )

*Diploma
*Training/ Professional License/ Certificates
*3 months current/ last drawn payslip
*Passport sized photo
(Dala hard copy at soft copy, yung USB pala sa check in baggage din.)
