@immarkyboi26 any update on your job hunting? Went there last april though just for a week tour nag sidetrip na rin ako mag jobhunt via walk in but to no avail. Im also from bank here in pinas. Now, im constantly sending online applications but mostly denied/rejected.

A bit tough marami kong friends na wife nsa banking sector (credit suisse, rhb, dueteche, etc) puro retrench. Other people say possible pumikup pa ang after 5 yrs

Has any foreigner actually been successful in landing a permanent job in banking recently? The only foreigners I know who are getting hired are the ones willing to take up contracting work - very risky given that you can be cut at any point in time. SG Passport holders on the other hand are getting snapped up at other firms very quickly and usually come with a promotion too.

maraming foreigners sa banking and finance dito, pero mostly for specialized and highly skilled roles.

@tambay7 the point I'm trying to make, is that I don't think it's possible right now (and I'm waiting for someone to prove me wrong) - in the last 6 months at least I do not know anyone who's in banking that's been able to secure a perm position the industry. Banking roles I mean that are good for Employment Pass - which previously was a walk in the park to get if you remotely had the skills they were advertising for, and now just seems impossible as citizenship status are being prioritized over experience/skills.

I don't know what the deal is with S-Pass (I highly doubt AP/AR would quality for E-Pass), but certainly for the higher grade roles, it's become almost impossible to obtain unless you're willing to risk being a contract worker - so just something for the new aspiring folks to think about before taking the risk to come here without a firm job offer first.

@Jacob Bihira ka lang po siguro makakita ng inde lokal dito na may permanenteng posisyon sa banking industries. May kilala po ako na nasa isang lokal bank dito. Inde po imposible kaya lang bibihira lang ang mabigyan ng pagkakataon.

depende siguro sa scope ng word na "foreigner", may mga nakaka secure ng banking/finance jobs na europeans and americans

@tambay7 Foreigner = Non-Singaporean Citizen.

Half of my foreigner friends in SG are non Pinoys, of which are mostly Americans, all on employment passes working for different banks and none (including Pinoys) have been able to secure Employment passes with other banks for perm roles in the last 6 months at least.
