Sharing my Singapore job hunting experience as a life science major :)
Isa akong Biology major sa Pinas with total work experience of 5 years.
I came here on May 9 through the help of my Aunt.
Nagmessage ako to introduce myself and show my interest to apply for the Lab Project Officer position. It was my first time contact such a high person to directly persuade him to notice my application. Proud ako dahil pag gusto mo talaga ang isang bagay, dapat siguraduhin mong gagawin mo ang lahat (as in lahat) para makuha yon.
June 6, nainvite ako for first interview. Sobrang saya. June 7: First interview. Kaya July 5, natawag ako for second interview. Minove nila from July 18 to July 17 dahil alam nilang flight ko pauwi ng 17. Maganda rin ang second interview. Four applicants kami fighting for 2 vacancies. Until the result came last July 25. Alam ng CEO kung gaano ko kagusto ung position dahil everytime, nagsesend ako ng post-interview email to thank them and reexpress my interest. After knowing the news, I asked them what their reservations are for me, but they did not reply.
Makisama sa ibang tao, maging away from my immediate family, and matutong ipaglaban ang gusto mo. I hope I was able to inspire somehow.
I was hoping I could tell a success story here at Pinoy.sg. It may not be the ending we expected, I hope I was still able to inspire others. I may have not been lucky but you should not stop fighting for what you want. At least, wala kang regrets. Madapa ka man, titibay ka naman lalo. Bangon lang lagi. I was not able to secure a job but I met someone who I believe will stay in my life for quite a while.
