POEA Direct hire ban still on-going

My friend who is bound to japan for work next month said that when called POEA, he's been told that there's an on-going ban for direct hires.

May nakapagprocess na ba sa inyo recently?

  • HELLO @goblinsbride tumawag ako sa ph embassy dito about direct hire dito sa sg from pinas. then nag ask ako about sa isang requirement na verification ng job contract sa embassy. ang advice po saken eh mag agency sa pinas dahil total banned na daw po ang direct hire. totoo po ba to? bukas tatawag po ulit ako to verify if tama ba ung sinabi saken nung staff. nung sinagot nya kasi ako parang tamad na tamad sya at ayaw makipag usap. thanks po!

Ganyan din sabi sa friend ko. Pinapadaan sya sa agency which is sobrang hassle kasi yung agency hindi basta basta tumatanggap ng hindi nila accredited yung company na employer mo. So dun pa lang mukhang mahabang araw na ang gugugulin to provide requirements ng agency from the company.

Yung problem pa nya is placement fee. Which is amounting to 1 month salary daw according sa agency na nilapitan nya.

Hassle din kasi kailangan pa ipa-POLO verified yung contract, etc.
  • @madi07 requirement po pala saan yung job contract verification?
  • thx for the heads up...

tangina na man yan, bwisit gobyerno naten.
  • so pano yan kung makakuha ka ng role dito sa SG, tatangihan ka ng POEA/Phil Embassy kase hindi through agency? what a crock of shit. lol.
  • Section 123 of the 2016 Revised POEA Rules and Regulations prohibits foreign employers from directly hiring Filipinos for overseas jobs. This is the general rule.

This ban on direct hiring, however, has a few exceptions.

Members of the diplomatic corps, international organizations, heads of state and government officials with the rank of deputy minister (or undersecretary) or higher, are exempted from the ban. Lower ranking foreign government officials may also hire directly provided the Philippine Overseas Labor Office (POLO) —the office of the Department of Labor and Employment abroad —favorably endorses the direct employment of Filipinos.

Professionals and highly skilled workers can also be hired directly provided that their work contracts have terms and conditions above and beyond the standards set by the POEA. Likewise, exempted from the ban are workers hired by a Filipino relative or family member who is a permanent residence of the country where he or she intends to work.
  • so paano na lang? :(
  • Teka, so pano yan?

    - IPA with stamp
    - photocopy of ACRA with stamp
    - photocopy of IC (employer)
    - standard contract from Philippine Embassy (signed and stamp by employer) hinihingi po itong format na to sa embassy.

  • @candy thanks for the info.
Baka for new employees lng yan? Not sure though.

List of requirements for NAME HIRE/ DIRECT HIRE PROCESS (POEA- requesting for OEC (Overseas Employment Cert.):

    1. Passport
    2. Individual Employment Contract (POLO verified)
    3. Work Permit / VISA
    4. 4pcs Passport Size Picture (white background)
    5. NBI Clearance (optional)
    6. Medical Certificate
    7. Any Valid I.D of the Employer (passport)
    8. Employer's Company Profile
    9. POEA processing fee worth Php 8,600.00 (includes PDOS cert., and OEC= exit clearance) - (will be released with in the day, upon the approval of the evaluators)

Toink!!!!!

    - IPA with stamp
    *(company stamp po no?)

    - photocopy of ACRA with stamp
    *(*(company stamp po no?)

    - photocopy of IC (employer)

    - standard contract from Philippine Embassy (signed and stamp by employer) hinihingi po itong format na to sa embassy.
*(pede po ba to makuha thru email or need physically mag punta dun?)

Thank you ng madami @candy

Hassle talaga. I know there's a reason why they are doing what they're doing. Pero it feels like they are preventing pinoys in getting much better living.

Another friend of mine have a visa to a country in europe since last month. Flight na din sana niya early october. Di rin siya makaalis because of POEA. I wonder what's the ratio ng mga na-grant ng oec considering this...
Exemption from the Ban on Direct Hiring. The following are exempted from the ban on direct hiring:
    2. Professionals and skilled workers with duly executed/authenticated contracts containing terms and conditions over and above the standards set by the POEA. The number of professional and skilled OFWs hired for the first time by the employer shall not exceed five (5). For the purpose of determining the number, workers hired as a group shall be counted as one;
  • Hi!
  • @chat29 Pag dito ka na SG OEC would be enough.
