Almost 2 months na po kasi akong nag aapply online. Lahat ng advice at tips na nakuha ko sa site na ito ay sinunod ko kaso wala pa rin tlga. What are my chances of getting called or invited for an interview po ba mga boss? Mga nasa manufacturing sectors jan, may mga foreign hiring pa rin ba? Ano po ba real situation ng mga work nyo jan? Or baka ba dahil 2 years experience lng ako meron kaya d ako natatawagan? Patulong naman po mga maam at sir huhu

*Expected salary, personal info, passport, portfolio/website, etc. (optional) pero gawa ka ng isang copy kc yung iba need ilagay sa resume. Hnd nako nglagay ng char reference depende lng kung meron kang projects na bigatin but it's up to you.
Wag ka lng sa jobstreet ng company mgapply..pntahan mo din yung website nla then go to careers/jobs at check mo nrin kung parehong email ang gngmit nla for recruitment.
Mag-send ka ng application direcho sa HR ng mga companies na gusto mong applyan. If you see that there’s a new job opening sa Jobstreet o LinkedIn, hanapin mo ung website, send your CV AND COVER LETTER direcho sa HR nila. Gandahan mo CV at letter mo. Make it stand out.

Three years on and off kasi akong naga-apply thru the same process as you. Puro send lang thru Jobstreet and other portals, pero as in. Wala talagang nangyari. Bihira ang nagre-respond. So sabi ng bf ko, siguro it’s time to change my strategy.
Nag-SWOT (strengths, weakness, opportunites, strengths) analysis pa ako at Gantt chart. Hahaha Nilagyan ko talaga ng proseso. One of the conclusions I got from analysing the situation is that, my chances for getting interview invites is probably much higher if ang makakabasa ng application ko is totoong empleyado ng kumpanyang magha-hire—meaning ung HR manager—kesa yung third party na kinontrata lang nila para mag-screen ng applicants, meaning ung agency. Isipin mo kasi ganito ruta ng papel mo:
Old application process:
Your resume—>recruiter (not employee, probably may quota per day)—> company HR officer—>company HR manager
New application process:
Your resume—>company HR officer / company HR manager
That said, iniwasan ko talaga ung mga job ads na gawa ng recruitment agency. Di naman iniwasan, pero mas nag focus ako sa mga company na nagdi-direct hire. Nasa websites nila malimit ung job advertisements. (So know the key companies in your field. Research ka. LinkedIn is very useful. Indeed also. )
Gets ba? Basta yun ang naging approach ko. The key is really getting your CV to the *relevant* decision makers, at yun yung HR mismo.
That said, lumabas din sa analysis ko na I should really update my CV. As in in-organize ko talaga ung to make my qualifications stand out at base sa industry na ina-applyan ko, nilagayan ko ng professional objectives, yung lay out ginawa kong pleasing to the eye at professional ultimo font, tapos nilagyan ko ng mas maayos na picture.
Tapos ung cover letter, which I now understand is very important. Effort talaga sa pag-compose. I tried to imagine, “how would this come across sa HR manager? Para ba syang template, o obvious ba na may passion ako dun sa trabaho?” Ganung ek ek.
I don’t know if this is what made it work for me this time after all these years. But I sent my application directly to them May 4th, they sent me an interview invite May 7th, mid-May lumipad ako for an interview balik Pinas ako, within a week they offered me a job, May 28th they applied for my IPA, tapos kahapon lang pinadala na nila sa akin ung IPA ko. Maybe it was my new strategy that worked this time around. MAYBE.
So try mo lang, bro. Basta remember, you are your own product so ibenta mo sarili mo sa taong mas likely na bibili sayo at naiintindihan ang features mo.
Also, don’t forget. Halimbawa lang na-interview ka na. Padala ka ng thank-you note. Gandahan mo rin. Basta make yourself stand out as the best candidate possible. I think we take that for granted kasi, and rely on the ease of using portals too much.

PS At maraming, maraming dasal. Dati kasi di ako nagdadasal. Prayers can move mountains pala talaga, it seems.

Trainer ako currently for the government sector dito sa Pinas. Trainer din ang tinanggap kong job doon. Communications ang undergrad ko, pero nag po-post grad ako ngayon ng social work. As a trainer, 2.5 years pa lang experience ko, pero matagal na akong nagtatrabaho.
Di ko talaga in-expect na may demand for training jobs. Medyo strict kasi sila; they prefer trainers na may local certification. Wala akong ganun. I guess sinuwerte lang rin siguro at talagang 110% ako sa interview.
Yes, change strategy ka lang! Wala namang mawawala. I recommend you do the SWOT analysis. Mas magiging malinaw kasi yung mga bagay-bagay, so na-anticipate mo mga pwedeng maka-hadlang sa application process mo
Wag kang mawalan ng pag-asa agad agad. If I remember 2 months ka pa lang naga-apply, ako taon na. Hahaha! Imagine that. Engineer ka; in the grander scheme of things, you're more employable anywhere than I am. Basta patience and dasal lang.
What I did was that I put both. Start as you mean to go, so dapat honest ka from the beginning para di rin sila magulat. Gusto mo lang naman kasi sabihin na if ever tanggapin ka nila, may titirhan ka doon sa SG.
Also, yes, you can request for a Skype interview. Though shempre iba talaga kung face-to-face. Di nga kasi reliable connection natin dito sa Pinas. Basta state your requests clearly. Prangka rin kasi mga Singaporeans, ayaw nila ng paligoy-ligoy.
Gandahan mo application letters mo. As in. Maraming templates online, pwede ka manggaya ng style.Ipa-proofread mo sa magaling sa grammar bago ipasa.
It might take a while. Give it a few more months. Pero if you hit the right one, tuloy-tuloy yan basta maayos proseso mo.

- man pinsan na sa SG ang work na nagyaya na mag-apply daw ako
- bili ng ticket (US500 pa noon; re-bookable) and pocket money bigay ng mabait kong Kuya
- arrived in SG got 15 days (may 15 days pa noon na visit pass) from the IO chop
- apply online, pasa sa mga nakikilala and via mail (medyo uso pa noon)
- 0 interview
- after 15 days, apply ng extension sa ICA (hindi pa online noon) through the help of a Filipino PR na nakilala
- got 15 days extension so tuloy ang apply
- 0 interview
- naubos na naman ang 15 days so apply ulit sa ICA, nakakuha ulit ng 15 days pero sinabi na last extension na
- nakakuha ng 2 interview sa magkaibang company; isa waiting list and isang "i-apply daw ng Pass???"
- nung pa-expire na ulit ang visit pass, exit to JB
- pagbalik ng SG, nakapasok naman pero same date of validity as original visit pass ang binigay
- nagpunta sa MOM para magpa-extend giving the reason na may on-going application ng Pass; pagtingin ni Officer sa database "NO RECORD"
- ubos ang visit pass so uwi ng Pinas na luhaan and tanggap na hindi successful ang job hunting
- after 3 days pagdating ng Pinas, tinawagan ng HR nung ang result ng interview ay "i-apply daw ng Pass???" and approved na daw ang IPA
- balik ng SG without IPA (hindi ko rin kasi kabisado pa noon at walang nakapag-advise)
- nakapasok ulit ng SG
- nakakuha ng S-PASS and tuloy ang SG life hanggang ngayon

sa admin side kasi mas marami ang locals. pero subok lang, hangga't sumusubok ka, may pag-asa
Kaya kailangan supported ng relevant at verifiable experience yung mga skills na kini-claim niyo sa CV at sa interviews niyo. And most of the roles here lalo na kung foreigner relevant experience talaga hanap, some companies 3-5 years minimum experience, swertihan na lang yung mga naha-hire na may 2yrs experience or less, siguro may ibang selling factor na sila like additional relevant skills bukod dun sa main required skills.
At yung pag bibilang ng years of experience eh hindi working experience, kundi years of experience on the specific role or related skillset. Kunwari 5 years ka na nag wo-work, pero sa 5years na yun eh 1 year ibang role at industry, 2years ibang role at industry, 2 yrs ibang role at industry ulit. Dahil sa palipat lipat ka ng role at type of work/industry, hindi mo pwede sabihin na 5years ang experience mo ngayon sa lahat ng role or skills. I'm sure you get what I mean.
