Registration Phases for Primary One

If you are like me a parent who's child is entering Primary 1 soon, I would say getting a slot in a Good School is tough. Tough is even an understatement. It's kinda close to impossible, especially if your Child is a Foreigner.

I will be providing a guide for you guys who hasn't started or in the research phase.

Please feel free to correct or share your experiences as well.

Primary 1 Registration is based on the Year your child was Born.

For instance, children born between 2 January 2010 and 1 January 2011 can participate in the 2016 Primary One Registration Exercise for admission to Primary One classes in 2017. - See more at: https://www.moe.gov.sg/admissions/primary-one-registration#purpose

Primary One Registration Exercise starts from June to September every year. So for instance, The 2016 Primary One Registration Exercise for Primary 2017 starts from 2016 June to 2016 September. The earlier you prepare the better, some local parents, I hear, prepares as early as the moment the child was born.

Parents should also refer to the registration phases and procedures to find out which phase their children are eligible for, how to register and the documents required for registration.

So depending on the status of your Child, they will fall on certain Phases.

	Phase 2A(2) (a) For a child whose parent or sibling has studied in the primary school of choice (b) For a child whose parent is a staff member of the primary school of choice Announcement of Results: By Friday, 15 July 2016	Tuesday, 12 July 2016 Wednesday, 13 July 2016
	Phase 2B (a) For a child whose parent has joined the primary school as a parent volunteer not later than 1 July 2015 and has given at least 40 hours of voluntary service to the school by 30 June 2016 (b) For a child whose parent is a member endorsed by the church / clan directly connected with the primary school (c) For a child whose parent is endorsed as an active community leader Announcement of Results: By Friday, 22 July 2016	Monday, 18 July 2016 Tuesday, 19 July 2016
