Accountants in SG

Hi, I'm planning to go sa SG this coming January 2019 to find job sa field ng accounting or any related work.

So my worries are:
1. Wala po ako kamag anak dyan. Tho i have a friend who is currently staying sa sister nya. Possible ba madeny ako sa IO?
2. Okay pa ba ung budget na 50k?
3. Nag send na ako ng CV ko while im still here sa Pinas but to no avail.
4. Possible kayang mkahanap ako ng work dyan in span of 30 days?

1. hindi nmn. dpnde sa kung pano ka sasagot sa io. backread sa ibang thread, mrami tips.

2. ung 50k pang-isang buwan lang kung hindi libre ung tutuluyan mo. at least 3mos budget sana iprepare mo.

3. send lang ng send. but usually sa field na to, lagi urgent. so mas preferred ung mga andito na.

4. possible pero npkaliit chance.

FYI, okay ang Jan, basta try to avoid CNY2019 week, a week before and after, mejo busy sa preparations at long holiday yung mga iba companies.

@jen707 ang CNY ay Feb5/6. kadalasan bonus ay binibigay before or after CNY before sila magresign.
para sakin ang magandang timing ay march.

@jen707 you may try last week of feb, ganun time kasi ako nagpunta hehe! Sugal lang din ako wala kakilala dito sa SG o kamag anak.

@jen707 dto po bihira ung recommendation or palakasan you need to apply online po hanggat andyan ka sa pinas keep sending your entries of application....pag nakita nila maganda naman exposures mo na indicate mo sa CV mo there is a chance they drop u an email and will ask kung nasa SG ka na then...if ever try to reply na papunta ka na ....think positive lang

@Bert_Logan thank you so much sa advice. Nag rereply naman si jobstreet pero puro rejected and closed na. But im not losing my hope. ung mga ibang jobsites dunno if working but im trying. Thank you ulit.

@jen707 , I can see the "reject" reply sa jobstreet as a positive outcome. Why? kasi it means umaabot yung resume mo sa list ng isho-shortlist. And 1 thing cguro na kino-consider nila is someone na andito na sa SG kaya na reject. I suggest na maglagay ka ng cover letter sa lahat ng application mo, and state there ung situation mo. Say, "ur looking for a job in SG pero nsa Pinas ka pa, and will fly immediately once ma consider for a job interview. You also considering Skype interview, whichever works for the company." Atleast, upfront alam nila ung intention mo work in SG khit nsa pinas ka pa, and at the same time willing ka lumipad dito if fit ur role na hinahanap ng company. Try to open account sa linkedin. As I've said sa ibang thread, highly over-looked etong area na to. But, all my previous jobs (4) were all thru Linkedin. Daming lurker na headhunter dyan. pm mo ko if u want some specific tips pano mapansin profile mo sa linkedin. All the best sayo!

@RDG wow thank you. Medyo lumakas loob ko po sa message nyo. Yes nag lagay po ako ng disclaimer na sana pinas ako. About the linkedIn may accnt po ako however medyo mahirapan ako na mag palit ng status na looking for a job in sg kasi followers kmi ng manager ko. Anyways, pm po kita to know tips:)) thanks.

@RDG maybe i should stop muna ung job hunting ko po. Kasi baka pag nandyan na ako which is sa 2019 pa wala na ako maapplyan kasi nag send na sila ng reject lahat. Tama po ba? Sa 2019 nlng po ako ulit mag apply online.

@jen707 medyo maaga pa nga kung 2019 mo pa balak pumunta dito. ang pwede mong gawin ay tingnan yung mga skill set na nakalagay sa mga job openings para mas mapaghandaan mo

@jen707 , usually rule of thumb is pasa ng resume 1 or max of 2 months before ka pumunta dito. Almost always, need ng company is out right. I also suggest punta ka mga mid feb or later, after ng CNY. pra di sayang sa time, kasi tatakbo stay mo dito pero nka shutdown most companies. Maximize!

@jen707 ok lang yan 2019 basta wag ka paabot ng next singapore election kasi panigurado mag labas na naman ng bago policy at maghigpit na naman ganun daw kasi sabi ng nakausap ko na kwork n local
