Would you go back to PH to work?
If may offer kayo sa pinas na same salary dito sa SG (minus na ang tax sa pinas)... would you want to take it or not? why?
Comments
One of my main reasons (besides sahod) is the traffic situation sa pinas.
Or probably ill work 6 months lang dito at mag-apply nalang sa pinas kasi parang mahirap pala if malayo sa asawa at anak...
Matagal tagal na rin kc ako dito sa SG mag 10 yrs na. pero my son is just 22 months kaya parang iba compare ng wala ka pang anak...
@bobong - yep totoo, mindset din.. iniisip ko pwde naman ako makauwi over the weekend para hindi nakaka-stress kakaisip. May friend din ako 1st time nyang mag-abroad yung anak nya mga around 12 years old na, nagkaroon sya ng depression... kaya yun after 6 months umuwi na rin.
@adobecc - I agree on the long term benefits ng AU or NZ.. madami na rin pinoy ako na officemate na nagmigrate.. The only thing I don't like is the ticket ng AU and NZ is expensive compared sa SG... Like sa SG even every month pwde ako makauwi compare to AU and NZ hindi ko magagawa yun... though kaya nga dadalin mo family mo para hindi ka uwi ng uwi hehehe...
@RDG - yep true mataas tax sa pinas but if you work remotely you don't have to pay tax in PH, you just pay the tax in SG as per company kung saan ka employed, not unless they will change your employment to PH.
I did work remotely before and may tax is just sg, I just need to be in SG for certain period of time dahil may required ang SG gov if you are working here to stay certain number of days / year.
No you are not tax evading, I presume your company is registered in SG but doesn't have a full office setup, more likely what shell companies are doing. They hire you thats why you got a pass here (not unless they apply your pass under an agency or PR ka but still IRAS and MOM knows it), then you just need to pay the tax in SG (since you have a pass and IRAS).
Anyway if that works for you then well and good.
Marami din kasing digital nomads they work/stay in boracay that I've met and talked, some are freelancers and some are fully employed (remotely working) and they pay tax based on the country they are employed.
Yep mas ok tlga if kasama family.
