Job Brief:
We are looking for a Systems Engineer that is passionate about technology and solving business challenges. You will be part of a talented team of engineers that demonstrate superb technical competency, delivering mission critical infrastructure and ensuring the highest levels of availability, performance and security for our customers. Qualified systems engineers will have a background in IT, computer systems engineering, or systems engineering and analysis.
Responsibilities:
• Perform deployment, configuration, maintenance and optimisation of solution infrastructure within allocated schedule
• Install, configure, test and maintain operating systems, application software and system management tools
• Engage in the maintenance and support activities, which may include troubleshooting, incident response, and patching in a timely manner.
• Create and maintain documentation for system platform installation, changes, upgrades and operational maintenance.
• Provide technical expertise in daily operational administration and field support.
• Monitor and test performance for potential bottlenecks, identify possible solutions, and work with vendors and partners to implement those fixes
• Work with end users and partners in developing and implementing system configuration changes based on requirements.
• Maintain security, backup, and redundancy strategies
• Provide 2nd and 3rd level support
• Coordinate and liase with vendors and support team on problem resolution, implementation issues and upgrades.
Requirements:
• BS/MS degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related subject
• Proven working experience in installing, configuring and troubleshooting windows/UNIX /Linux based environments.
• Solid Cloud experience, preferably in AWS
• Experience with virtualization and containerization (e.g., VMware, VSAN, Virtual Box)
• Experience with monitoring systems
• Scripting skills (e.g., shell scripts, Ruby, Python)
• Networking knowledge (OSI network layers, TCP/IP) will be advantage.
• Self-motivated, proactive and customer centric attitude
