STAY OR LEAVE - OPINION NEEDED

edited January 2019 in Job Openings
Hello everyone. I'm working in SG as Senior Manager on EP. Roughly, I'm earning P260K/mo. I just got an offer back in Manila--a Director role with a salary of P200K. I enjoy the conveniences of working in SG--transpo, government services, you name it. I'm also partial about the money (mas malaki, mas maganda syempre). BUT--the offer in PH is also irresistible in the sense that it would allow me to be a 30YO director, and with a salary that's comparable to SG. I'm torn between going back and staying. What would you do if you were in my place?

30yo director :o baka pag nag tagal mas lumaki pa sahod mo at exp as director
  • Ako rin po hihingi ng payo...I lost my job, SPR po ako and I am already 61. Now I am finding it difficult to find an opportunity. I have a Debt Management Plan because I owe 6 banks. What can happen if I give up my SPR? can I get my money in full or deducted mga loans ko?
  • @Belenducks kung kaya at qualified, may mga kilala ako na nagtrabaho sa mga Bus/MRT (as driver, others) companies after mawalan ng work sa original na linya nila
  • @girlserra , in my opinion, its a no! Kung single ka, I suggest to stay here and dito mo i-develop ang career growth mo. Tama si Thirsty, comparing the tax, easily its 60K tax, leabing you with 140k. Nsa Senior manager role kna sa SG, and isang lipat mo lang ng work, malaki ang increment nyan, its not linear, its exponential ika nga. Based on experience, I'm earning 500k dito and can choose to go back sa Pinas kasi home-based nman ako, pero I decline due to tax issue and kasama ko nman family ko dito.

Well, if andun family mo (assuming meron ka na own family),its a different scenario. Especially kung maliit pa mga anak, then you have to sit with your wife and talk things over since mas gugustuhin pa din nila na magkakasama kayo, and having a 200k/month in Pinas is a rare opportunity. My 2 cents kabayan. All the best!
