Questions on Working Remotely in PH as an Employment Pass Holder
Hello Kabayan,
I'm working as a Software Engineer dito sa SG for 2 years now.
I'm planning to move back to Philippines, and have expressed this in advance sa team lead ko.
They've expressed interest in keeping me as an employee even when in Philippines, but have some concerns over the possible arrangement.
Kaya I have the following questions:
1. May law ba na nagbabawal sa Singapore for an Employment Pass holder to be working outside Singapore for most of the year. I do know na okay lang naman mag work-from-home from time-to-time, pero possible ba na longer than half of the year ka na andun sa Pinas? Half of the year kasi ang tax-residency sa Singapore sa pagkaka-alam ko. I'm fine coming back sa Singapore for certain times of the year, gusto ko lang talaga na sa Pinas na ako mag spend most of my time to be with family.
- Meron ba dito naka-pag try na mag transition from full-time employee in SG to a contractor-based freelance worker sa Pinas? If so, pano ang trasition? Would love to hear about your story na din.

any update po kuya sa situation nyo po?
for sure cancel nila ung pass mo at bibigyan ka ng package ng pinas....
@xhixhinie wala pong update. Especially sa COVID issues, baka mas mahihirapan.
@Bert_Logan what do you mean by 'package ng pinas'? Wala po kaming operations sa Philippines.
@ricst752 what i mean is kung ano ang pasahod dyan sundin nila for sure mas mataas naman bibigay sayo depende nalang sa kumpanya mo kung galante o hindi...
kung wala mana kayo operation sa pinas pede ka paswelduhin as a consultant or per project base...sana maganda bigay syo at sana bigyan ka na wala expiry ung perm position tapos dyan naka base sa pinas...nice....
