Employer planning to apply for EPass and not Spass due to quota unavailability

Hello po sa mga kabayan ko dito sa Singapore! I hope somebody can help me regarding the possible result of EPass application by employer. I'm one of the affected employees here in SG na mawawalan ng work due to COVID-19. Then after getting hired by the new employer, they found out na wala nang spass quota, so they are planning now to apply for an EPass na pinagaalala ko lang na hindi maapprove dahil hindi pumasok sa minimum qualifying salary ung offer nila. They have actually offered me 3k which is only applicable sa spass pero I still asked them to pursue the application since pahirapan nadin sa pagjajob hunting. I hope matulungan nyo po ako sa problem ko. Salamat po.

    nakow. before ka maiapply ng Epass, need muna wait 14days na posting sa jobsbank ung position. tas need patunayan na wala tlg sila mahire na local/pr for the post. lalo ngayon sobrang higpit. see link below. tsaka 3600 na minimum for epass, 3900 starting on May2020. at kung experienced ka pa, klngan mas mataas pa jan sa minimum ang offer sayo, check mo sa SAT ung required salary para sa qualifications mo para maapprove ang Epass. pwede ka nila offeran ng false salary declaration,isosoli mo ang sobra sa employer every month. angbigat naman ng tax mo nito, pero kung ako wag na lang, nagkakahulihan na at pwede ka ma-ban sa sg forever. wala ka pa peace of mind. try mo inegotiate kung pwede pa taasan ung salary. basta dun lang tayo sa legal.

  • yes po. Tinawagan ko na ung HR na kung pwede magfalse salary declaration nalang po para pumasok sa qualifying salary. However, papagalitan daw sya pag ginawa nya ung arrgmnt na yun. Pinoy din po contact person ko and sya din magkekeyin pass application ko

  • ang sabi naman po nya may mga nakakalusot din nmn na applicants sa epass kahit below sa required salary

  • complied nmn na po yung 14 days period of posting ng job vacancy.

  • @Nohiel04 tama yan. nandito ka kaya apply lang ng apply. pero handa ka rin ng plan B, plan C... para anuman ang mangyari, magiging ok ka.

    @Aquarius_078 agree ako kay @maya pag-isipan mong maigi kung aabot sa maling sweldo. kasi pag natyempuhan ka, ikaw din ang kawawa. madami ng nahuli sa ganyan. kung ako ay dun ka na sa ligal para wala kang iniisip. ingat

  • @Aquarius_078 kahit ngayon marami parin false declaration ng salary at unti unting tinutugis ng mom. yung iba hindi nahuhuli kasi clean naman yung contract nila.

    desperate moves na yang sasabak ka sa salary false declaration.

    kapag mahuli ka, kawawa yung ibang mga empleyado madadamay.

    better be safe than sorry. recommend ko nalang na kung di kaya wag nalang. pag nahuli ka nyan madaming affected. tapos alam ko perma ban ka pa kung aware ka na ganyan yung setup ng application mo at di mo ni report kay mom.

    By month of May mababago na measures na for spass and epass application. its might stricter measures na. good luck sa application mo.

    suggest ko ay follow rules nalang kesa magka problema ka pa ng madami. at kung talagang wala at di na talaga dito, madami namang ibang countries.

  • Hi anyone here still waiting for spass result? Mine was Rejected less than 24 hours after spass application and appealed on the same day that the result came out. The reason was (Your application was not successful. If your candidate is currently in Singapore, you may wish to submit an appeal for our consideration...) Im on my 1st week of waiting for my appeal. Thanks and stay safe everyone. :)

  • @carpejem its a new application. :) Andito na ako sa Singapore kaya pinush na nung employer ko. Tried SAT before applying that time it was approved for SPASS naman, but un nga due to covid issue siguro it was rejected. So we applied for appeal and currently still waiting. :)

  • I'm really sorry if there's a thread similar with this, maybe I just cant find it.
    Here's my story and I kinda needed some advice.

    Boss applied S Pass and Rejected (due to covid) and appealed. But it was rejected due to quota.
    (My boss overlooked and thought we have quota)
    Anyway, we applied for E Pass and was rejected due to covid.

    So will be appealing, but they asked few documents:
    1) My 3 months bank statement (stating my name and account number) and 3 months payslip = I was working in Singapore for 8 Years. Just resign not very long.
    2) My latest Notice of Assessment.
    3) Letter from the employer that reason why my salary was increased (Spass 2800 to Epass 6500 = My last drawn salary was $4200)
    4) New employment contract
    5) Job description.

    This are the documents they needed from us, Well we have them well prepared and will be submitting them next week.

    My questions are:
    1) Anyone here had the same scenario with mine? Spass rejected and Epass submitted.
    2) The company is not super big but have 8 locals, 1 E Pass, currently. Would this affect the result?
    3) My job scope is the same as my previous job. But title now is Chief Admin Executive. Does title affect the result?
    4) I was S Pass holder for 8 years and never changed employer. Will this have an issue?

  • @iam.joyce ang mahirap dyan ay yung justification. ano sweldong nakalagay nung pinasa s-pass ap mo? kung magkaiba yun at sa ipapasa ngayon para sa ep, red flag yun. kasi bakit biglang tinaas. dun na papasok ang matinding paliwanag ng employer mo

  • Well kasi,yung previous employer ko kasi $4200 sahod ko spass, gradual increase ako sknila. Now kasi 6500 for epass. ang reason na bbigay ung experience and leadership skill.

  • tama si @kabo salary pa lang red flag na. kasi paano ijustify ung from 2800 sa unang application, nung nareject naging 6500. kung wala sana ung history na inapply ka spass 2800, pwede pa.

    1. wala quota Epass so it wont affect, kaya mas mahirap magpaaapprove ng epass dhl bubusisiin tlga. need dn patunayan na umeffort si employer maghire ng local pero wala tlgang mahire.

    2. Yes, impt ung job title - ang epass pangmanagerial roles pataas.

    but anyway, good luck sa application. sa ngayon, nasa kamay ng employer paano ilalaban ung case mo. balitaan mo kmi.

    question lang, ibibigay ba ng employer ung 6500 na salary tlga or may secret agreement na 2800 pa rin sahod at magsosoli ka ng difference? kung magsosoli ka, I would suggest na wag na lang tanggapin ung offer. not worth it. bukod sa mahal ng tax na babayaran mo, pag nagkahulihan, banned ka na magwork sa sg forever. tas araw2 wala ka din peace of mind. google mo ung mga news ngayon sa mga ganitong cases.

  • Hello everyone. Salamat po sa mga reply kabayans.

    Yung 6500 ay sahod ko talaga. Ang dahilan po spass 2800 ay assistant lang ako dapat for admin. Ngayon kasi ako na mag hhandle ng corporate accounts ng company (chartered accountants po kami). Mas malaki yung responsibilidad na ibbigay sakin, at ako po mag ttraining pa pra madagdagan ang akins skills. May eexam rin po ako AML para makatulong sa current job ko.

    Yun po ireason out ni boss bakit ako nareject, dahil po sa obligasyon na mas malaki ibbigay sakin. Lumalaki na rin ang company namin.

    Nag advertise si employer sa ibang online job websites, may nag apply 3 singaporean and 2 PR pero di po qualified sa trabaho. Ako lang tinaggap niya. Based sa MOM less than 10 na employee company doesnt have to advertise sa jobs bank po.

    naguluhan lang ako kasi ung requirement na hinigni sakin hahah. Kala ko kasi medyo ok na chances, kasi need nila Notice of assessment ko, (yearly naman po ako nagbabayad ng tax laki nga eh huhu), tapos ung bank statement ko, para makita na 4200 nga dati ko sahod.

    for 8 years kasi tapos last drawn ko is 4200, need ko ng salary increment is mas mataas na posisyon iaapply sakin at obligasyon na ibbigay. Kaya boss offer me basic 6500.

    congrats at sana nga maging ok na pass mo. nasa boss mo na yan at sa titingin ng papel mo sa EmOEm. at syempre, ang walang tigil na dasal. good luck
