  • Hi badeth welcome sa forum. To be honest taghirap ngyn kahit sa aming mga PRs dito. Madaming company ang nag cocost cut. Maraming stores ang nagsasara. Most sa malls makikita m daming vacant units. Normally maraming openings kapag after chinese new year matumal between Dec to chinese new year.
  • Feeling ko kaya hindi din pumapasa yung pass application ay dahil sa sweldo. Kasi kailangan itaas ng company sweldo mo kasi 5 years na yung exp mo sa Pinas.
  • Ako kasi 2 years exp ko sa Pinas. Civil Engineer ako pero working as QS dito ngayon. Nung nagkasundo kami nung employer ko sa sweldo, inapply na pass ko. So walang feedback si Employer hanggang nakita ko na lang na approved na yung pass ko sa MOM website. Tapos yung agreed na sweldo namin nung una, nadagdagan pa ng konti. XD. Tapos sabi nung employer ko bonus ko na daw yun. Haha.

    Kaya ayun pabor pa sakin nangyari.

    Inaasess kasi ng MOM yung value mo based sa experience mo.
    Next time feeling ko dapat sabihin mo agad sa employer na interested sayo yang case mo. Kesa iaapply na naman nila tapos marereject lang.

    Pero baka wala ding quota. Dami kasing factors na dapat din iconsider e. Same tayo after Chinese New Year kami pumunta dito this year.
  • Naku, di ko alam e. Advice kasi samin after Chinese New Year talaga. Kami ni GF both nagkawork. So I guess effective yung after Chinese New Year.
  • To be honest, mas mahigpit ngayon compared last year, at yung pag hihigpit na extend na up to EP holders compared dati nasa sa SPass at WP mas mahigpit.
    Everyone are still free to try their chances, pero mas masusi na yung evaluation ngayon ng work pass applications.
    Just make sure na mayroon kayong baon na sapat na pera pang gastos dito habang naghahanap at tibay ng loob na hindi magpatalo sa pressure. Yung mga pressured kasi na kabayan na makahanap ng work ay napipilitan makipag transact sa mga agencies na gumagawa ng labag sa employment act.
  • Advice sa jobhunters specifically sa mga professionals:
    1. LinkedIn, connect and get in touch with licensed agencies, recruiters, headhunters. Your LinkedIn profile dapat concise and na highlight yung mga information and relevant sa skills, experience, and industry.
    2. Resume, dapat yung resume na sine-send niyo binabago niyo to be suited sa job description and requirements ng position na aaplayan. Generic resumes are boring and a thing of the past. Kung 50 positions/companies ang sinubmitan mo ng resume, ibig sabihin may 50 resume files ka na bawat isa ay specific and tailored sa requirement and description ng role na yun. Resume must highlight yung achievement and contribution sa company, project, team while you were holding the specific position.
    3. Interview, smile, eye-to-eye, be confident, and ask questions at the end. Ask questions na magpapakita na interested ka talaga sa role na yun.

  • Same tayo @DETH016, wala talaga kakilala dito kaya malaki naubos. Almost 1.5 months din akong tambay last Feb. Pero if it's meant for you, you'll get it. Make sure na yung applyan mo next time, match sa experience mo, sapat yung sweldo. If interested sayo yung employer, ikwento mo na agad yung nangyari sayo last time na nagapply ng pass yung isang company for you. Madami naman mababait na employers na mag aadjust for you.
  • @DETH016 yup that's the reality, marami naman tayo dito sa Sg na dumaan sa ganyan. Kaya extreme patience and perseverance talaga at pinakamahalaga sufficient budget for expenses.
    There is always a chance, kaya don't give up. ;)

  • papalapit ang pasko, kaya may surge ng retail, customer service, hotel, and tourism related jobs, pero priority palagi ang lokal pero syempre pag mataas demand at kaunti applicants may opportunity sa mga hindi lokal, another downside is baka karamihan eh mga temp/seasonal jobs and positions, still better than nothing.

    pwede rin po nyo ito magamit individually thru MOM website..

    my particulars to fill up if eligible kau sa SPASS/EP..

    - name
    - bday/age
    - school/course
    - position
    - salary given by the company

    try to do it by your own then you will know if u are eligible..
    if you are not eligible,try to change your declaration sa salary/position... until u reach that you are eligible..

  • @che may Foreigner : Local ratio na pinapatupad ang MOM para makapag hire ang isang company. E.g. 1Foreigner : 5Local

    This is mandated ng govt para hindi puro foreigner lang ang i-employ ng isang company.

  • tyaga lang @chardccantillo pero kung hindi pa panahon wag pilitin. nandito naman parati ang SG. taghirap lang talaga nyan. last 2008 recession din ako pumunta dito sa sg. swertehan lang rin talaga.
