Agency sa Pinas for a work in SG? - malapit na mawalan ng pag asa :(

Hi guys, so I'm on my 2nd entry to SG, last month natalo ako ng local sa final interview although ako daw ung gsto ng tech lead for a web developer position mas pinili parin nila ung local. I have 10 days na lang to stay here in SG and malamang lamang babalik nako ng pinas(last month kasi after ng 30 days nag exit ako sa qatar - andun kasi ung tatay ko so less gastos and hassle) .

Napansin kong mas matumal ngayon kumpara sa 1st 30 days ko. Mostly ng tumatawag ngayon tnatanong na agad kung SIngaporean or PR ako, then kabig agad kapag nalamang pinoy. Ung mga nakikita ko sa job boards I believe ay agencies din pero parang ang tagal and mahirap makapasok sa shortlist nila.

I've also tried ung TEP(Training employment pass) pero sabi nung inaapplyan ko sana, msyado ndaw cla maraming applications ngayon kaya hndi nila ako maaccomodate. BTW, TEP gives you 3 months na legit stay sa SG pero you have to undergo training cguro or parang OJT (as per info of my friends na PR and working here).

Sorry kung mejo mahaba na but I'm at the edge and natatakot akong umuwi ng pinas knowing na hindi ko alam kng kelan ako ulit mkakabalik ng SG pguwi ko.

So I would just like to ask kung meron ba dto sainyo na nagkawork through agencies sa pinas?If yes, please if you could share some info I would gladly appreciate it. May nakapagsabi din sakin na may mga agency daw sa Lucky Plaza pero I have to be very careful daw.

for your target work na IT/WebDev, usually walang agency from Pinas, usually yung mga may agency ay mga F&B, FDW, Nursing, Services job.

intense ang competition ngayon dito sa IT< dami na din kaisng local na into Programming, daming free/subsidized trainings na offer ang government para sa mga nag sshift into Tech jobs, plus foreign competition dami na ding Europeans na Tech na andito naghahanap ng work, bukod pa sa usual na Asians from Myanmar, Vietnam, India, SriLanka.

You just need to up your game to overcome the competition, kung kapos ang 2 months, pwede ka naman sa Pinas mag apply and negotiate for a virtual interview, sa Tech hindi yan imposible, daming Pinoy dito sa Tech industry na na hire from Pinas, if you're really good kahit nasan ka pa kukunin ka ng employer, kaya nga dumadami na Euros dito na nasa tech industry.

@adrix16 Agencies are very helpful but beware of their sweet promises some they only want your money.

I agree you just really need to up your game. Halos same field tayo, got my 3rd offer today which will be the one im signing. I arrived 1st week of April.

It's really how you present yourself and the work you do. I think dun lang magkakatalo

intense talaga competition sa WebDev, IT/Tech, hahanapan ka portfolio, technical exams and interviews will aim to really test and dig inti your skills and experience, simply saying na may xx years of experience ako as Dev will not cut it, hahanapan ka ng presence and proof. To all aspiring, up your game, be prepared and remarkable.

@adrix16 yeah sa lahat ng interview pinag code ako pero basic JS/ css/html lang. the mostly design na. yup lahat direct i have former work experience here so nakatulong siguro hehe
