IT career shift
Hello, bago lang po ako dito and hihingi lang ng advice. I work here sa pinas as a Desktop Support. 8 years exp ko po. I tried magapply sa sg twice pero walang nangyare. So im planning na magshift ng career to software developer. Then magtatry ulit sa sg.
Ang problem po is, pag nagpa experience ako sa pinas as soft dev e 33 years old na ako after 2 years.
My question is, is there a chance na makahanap ng work as software developer even if 33 years old na and 2 years experience lang? I know companies would prefer 23 years old with the same exp than a 33 year old with the same exp.

Kung sa game eh gusto mo ba maging assassin, o maging magician, soldier, o kung ano man.
Make sure na ni research niyo mabuti ang mapipili niyo. Hindi porket inaral mo at marunong ka na da isang language eh lahat na mg programming/developer jobs eh pwede mo na aplayan. Kaya make sure well researched kayo sa options bago pumili.
Kapag nakapili na, mag aral at train pwede online pero ma ok kung dun sa mga may certifications, sa UP, DLSU, Meralco, may mga short courses, sa Makati maraming training providers, online universities meron din, maganda kung may certifications para mailagay sa resume, remember mag aaply ka as if you're a fresh graduate.
Then after training, mag isip kung papano maipapakita yung skills mo at portfolio and proof sa mga aaplyan na companies. Kung WebDev ka mainam na may maipakita kang ginawang website, kung MobileDev may app ka na gawa mo, kung GameDev may game ka na gawa mo, etc etc. You'll think of something kung passion mo yang pinasok mo, otherwise eh wala ka talaga maiisip.
Then, mag hanap na ng mga job online, entry level, fresh grad, trainee level, kung wala ka talaga programming experience you have to swallow your ego for this, hindi ka pwede maging choosy o maging mas demanding sa Computer Engineering, ComSci and IT fresh graduate just because you have x years of experience in a completely unrelated field.
When I was starting after I graduated, may mga ka batch ako na 6-8yrs older than me, mga career shifters dating mga Accountant, Statisticians, Teacher, Chemist, at wala sila arte at ego, they really started as if fresh graduates, and some made it and some didn't, some gave up mid way the training.
