IO in SG/PH no problem, 17kilos pa ang maleta ko lol.
I only have 30k pesos, and my friend will extend my pass on my 15th day here. Grabeng pagtitipid pero adventure na rin. Bahala na si batman hehehe.
This is is my technique:
1. Do cold calls sa mga Recruiters directly. In Jobstreet, may mga phone numbers ang Recruiters there. Send Whatsapp too if meron sila. Just ask if they have quota and be upfront so you won't waste your time.
2. Besides sending resumes 100x a day, be strategic. Do it at 4:00am.
3. If you have friends here, ask for a recommendation!! Magpa refer ka.
4. Tailor fit your job description sa role that you are applying for. Your resume should at least be 2 pages only. In fact when my resume was printed out by the recruiter nung interview ko kahapon, nakita ko back to back nya prinint. It was easy for her to skim through it. 13 years na ako nag wwork, sinama ko lang yung 2008 ko na role.
5. Sign up for LinkedIn. This is the platform where Recruiters connect. Find the company you're interested at, look for Recruiting employees working there, connect with them and then send them a message. Personally, I signed up for a Premium Trial which I will cancel in 30 days. I just need to maximize yung platform to connect with them.
6. Lastly, research the company and prepare! Think of this as a competition with yourself, and not everyone else's. Given na yan na million nag aapply here. But you only have your skills, attitude and yourself to compete with.
Just be positive, have the right mindset and don't be afraid to fail. Umuwi man tayo ng luhaan, at the end of the day, you did your best and you handled setbacks gracefully. I hope this helps and goodluck!!!!
I'm on my 13th day here. Learning experience talaga sya and di ko makakalimutan mga pinagdaanan ko here no matter what happens. Doors close when they do, sabi nga nila. If it's for you, hindi ka palalampasin nyan.
Planning po ako magpunta ng SG this coming June. From Davao pa po ako. Hehe. Hingi po sana akong tips. Thank youuuu.
Tip ko lang syo, is mag browse ka na sa mga job site gaya ng jobstreet, jobsdb, monster, etc...then check mo ung field of studies mo na hinahanap sa job site. Usually naglalagay sila ng mga requirements sa mga candidate, try mo revised ung CV mo base sa job description na need nila na sa tingin mo ginagawa mo naman in your former work.
All the best.....kung kapalaran mo makapag work dto SG bibigay syo ni Lord yan.....GOD Bless!!!!
@Bert_Logan ang work experience ko po is administrative work sa Ford for 8 months tapos government service naman for 3 years. mainly clerical/encoding yung ginagawa even though nasa Accounting department. isang concern ko po pala is yung natapos kong kurso. Hndi kasi in line yung degree ko sa work exp ko gawa ng pagiging impractical ng degree ko (International Studies) malaki parin po kaya chances ko of landing a job despite that?
Walk in is not really the style dito. You can submit online applications. But if you really prefer na mag walk in wala naman kaso at style mo yun and malay mo iba maging kapalaran mo and dun ka makakuha work. Yung ginawa ko dati is gawa ng drafts na email na pra early in the morning office hours eh send send send na lang ako. In that way, chances are yung email mo eh nasa taas ng list and makikita ng HR or sino man in charge of recruitment. Pag mga lunchtime sympre break din ako then send ulit mga hapon after lunch. Pag medyo patapos na office stop na kc most likely pauwi mode na sila, hehe! Then hanap hanap ulit job postings and mag ready ng drafts again for next day.
Regarding sa agencies, be careful din and maraming modus dito. Pagbabayarin ka and it's not cheap then ang ending goodbye na sa pera mo and d ka nakakuha ng trabaho. Although, there are legit ones naman and normally yung usual na charge nila is 2 mos salary mo. Meron din iba who charge for like registration fee. Lalo na if you needed to exit pano mo pa sila hahabulin for refund? You can ask for advise pa rin dito.
I wish you good luck. As what I have said sa isang post ko keep your hopes high and your expectations low pra mas less stressful if things don't work out according to your plan. Seek for God's guidance para d ka maligaw
