For foreign professionals, managers and executives. Candidates need to earn at least $3,600 a month and have acceptable qualifications.

S Pass
For mid-level skilled staff. Candidates need to earn at least $2,200 a month and meet the assessment criteria.

Work Permit (Maraming Klase, check mo here https://www.mom.gov.sg/passes-and-permits)
Work Permit for foreign worker
Work Permit for foreign domestic worker
Work Permit for confinement nanny
Work Permit for performing artiste

I think if your current employer wants to change you from "Work Permit" to "SPass" wala naman problem just follow as per MOM website https://www.mom.gov.sg/faq/s-pass/how-do-i-convert-a-work-permit-to-an-s-pass

I'm not sure if lets say from current employer (Work Permit) then hahanap ka ng new work... New Employer (S Pass Application) whats the chances of approval dahil makikita nila yung current pass mo is WP.

Sa case kasi ng "S Pass" (Current Employer) to EP (New Employer) marami akong nakitang na-reject but syempre maraming factors to consider on this... then the new employer needs to apply with the same pass (S Pass) para ma-approve.

I think makaka-apekto ito (Work Permit) if lets say kukuha ka ng mga:

1. Loan sa banks or credit cards (I think EP or S Pass requirement)
2. Singtel or Starhub Lines (I think if S Pass dapat mag bond ka)
3. House rental (this depends, yung iba kasi gusto EP if you are getting the whole flat)
4. and so on....

@ronaldsb - How old are your 2 kids? Also yung wife mo may job ba sa Pinas?

Ito ang mga dapat mong i-consider for first timer na magwowork dito sa SG:

1. Prepare yourself mentally - mahirap malayo sa Pamilya, so dapat mentally equipped ka.
2. Look for a comfortable place to stay and check mo if pwedeng magbakason family mo if in case you are getting a room.
3. Double check your contract if what is the notice period if you will resign? How many months is probationary period? Can you resign even probationary? (Wala naman bang bond that you need to pay)? The reason for this is at least you know at the back of your mind you can go back to Philippines anytime if you really feel "Home Sick".
4. Create a long and short term plan, pag-usapan ninyong mag-asawa (if lets say the transition of moving your family to SG, then your wife maghahanap ng work dito once stable ka na sa work and so on...) having a clear goal or vision makes it easier rather than na "Bahala Na".
5. Make sure you have internet in your place in SG as well as in Manila para makapag usap kayo palagi ng family mo.. it lessens the "home sick" part.

Salamat po sa mga replies. Sorry ngayon lang ulet nakavisit sa PinoySG. As of today kakareceive ko pa lang ng news from my employer na na-approved na po yung S-Pass ko. so I just need to go to SG na ulet to have medical and thumbprint. May nakausap na rin po ako na nga marerentahan ng place merong nasa 450 all-in shared room mukhang ok na po siguro para sa nagsisimulang kagaya ko. Nakausap ko na rin asawa ko at mga anak ko, panganay ko po ay 8 years old at bunso naman 6 years old. Bagaman mabigat sa kalooban kong malayo sa kanila pero iniisip ko naman na pansamantala lang naman ito at para sa kinabukasan din naman nila ang gagawin ko. Palagi kong sinasabi sa mga anak ko na kapag maayos na ako sa trabaho ko makakapasyal sila lagi sa Singapore at ganun din naman ako na pwede rin magpabalik balik sa Pilipinas halimbawang may makitang promo fare. Magiging busy din naman ang mga anak ko sa school nila kaya mabilis lang ang panahon magkakasama-sama din kami muli kapag vacation ko. Magkahalong emotion ang nararamdaman ko pero kailangan magpakatatag, magpakatibay, at i-enjoy na rin ang adventure ng buhay....

Thanks sa reply @kabo @geneFlynn @thematrix ! Update: work permit talaga 'yon but they decided na s-pass ang iapply sa'kin. Pending na ang application. Nakaka affect ba ang holidays sa duration ng approval? Kasi more than 7 working days na ang lumipas (excluding weekends and Christmas) pending pa rin. Malapit na rin mag expire ang date sa passport ko. Planning to wait for my ipa sa Malaysia. Kung sakaling mag eexit doon via bus pwede bang ang return ticket is bus lang pabalik SG? Or need na plane ticket talaga? 3months na ako dito if ever papasok ulit. Dami ko tanong. Thank you sa lahat ng help!

nakakaaffect holidays yes. ano malapit maexpire, svp or passport? kelan exactly? ang return ticket mo dpt hindi going back to sg, mapaghihinalaan ka nyan.

@isorn4x , hi! question.. ung original plane tickets mo.. good for one month na? for example ay feb 24 to march 26? tapos un ung nilagay mo sa disembarkation card? natanong ko kasi baka maging option ko din tong pag apply ng extension sa future

@Playfish mahirap yan. sa pinas pa lang maquestion kna bakit ka magstay ng 1month. ang style dito ay magbook ng 3-5days return tix, para iwas questions. kahit 30days ang intended na stay,but u dont disclose that to io.

pero kasi ung online extension ni @isorn4x ay na approve, pero ung iba kong nababasa ay hinde na approve.. kaya baka may iba lang syang ginawa para ma approve or medyo malapit ung disembarkation date na nilagay nya kesa sa iba

@Playfish yung sa plane ticket po namin ng misis ko ay 5days lang. then nagpaiwan na po ako sa SG at siya nalang mag isa umuwi. sa embarkation wala ako binago kasi nakarecord na yon upon arrival dito sa SG.

Hi sir @isorn4x thank you sa pag share ng expi mo sa pag aaply sa SG ,very helpful and nakaka incourage.Plan ko dn mag sg by june this year. It dn ako and hopefully by God’s grace makahanap din ng work jan sa SG.

Sir @isorn4x question po nung pagdating nyo sa sg nag hotel accomodation muna kayo ni misis or apartment na po agad ung booked nyo?

@kate_leonera hotel lang po muna habang nag ttour pa kami ni misis, after nun nag stay muna ako sa dati ko kboardmate (housemate nung nasa pinas pa) para less bayad sa upa ng bahay. Nung nakakuha na nang work humiwalay na po ako sa kanila.

Sir @isorn4x kapag po wala kakilala sa sg makaka kuha kaya kami ng room for rent for 30 days na walang advance at deposit?

Hi, what if na-hold po ako kasi before sa JB last Oct. 2018 nainterview ng IO's hanggang sa chineck nila yung phone ko at nakita nga na nag aapply ako at inamin ko na din, pero natatakan ako ng 30 days to go back to SG, pero still di pa din ako nakahanap ng work.

Now may nag email po sa akin and may quota na daw sila nag videocall interview na din po kami at pinapapunta ako sa SG after Chinese New Year.

Sa tingin nyo po may record na ako sa IO ng SG at makakabalik pa po ba ako?

@maya kaso po need ko daw pumunta sa SG for face to face interview and dun ko pa malalaman if ma hihire ako, should i risk to go there pa po ba? Or i-reach out ko nalang kay employer tong concern ko po? Pero baka ma turn off po sila sakin? Thanks po for the help
