    The recent rise in the number of foreign workers infected with COVID-19 has been mostly concentrated in dormitories. However, contact tracing suggests that transmissions at common construction worksites may have contributed to the increase in numbers. Thus far, the cases detected among workers living outside the dormitories have been low. All those infected and their close contacts have been isolated.

    As a precautionary move, the Ministry of Manpower (MOM) will require all work permit holders and S Pass holders in the construction to be placed on mandatory stay-home notices (SHNs). This is to ensure that there is no further interactions between the workers and those outside their residential premises for two weeks.

    This SHN for all workers in the Construction Sector who are holding work permits or S Passes will take effect on 20 April and end on 4 May 2020 (both dates inclusive). The Dependant Pass holders of these workers are also to be placed on SHN.

    The SHN applies to all workers and their dependents in any place of accommodation, or any place which is converted into a place of accommodation on a temporary basis, or otherwise. It excludes those staying in any dormitory gazetted as an isolation area, or any foreign employee dormitory as defined in the Foreign Employee Dormitories Act 2015, as special arrangements have already been catered for them.

    MOM is implementing this requirement on all workers in the Construction Sector as the highest number of infected cases have come from this sector and worksite transmissions have been a contributing factor. The SHNs will help prevent further transmission of the virus between workers in the sector, across all housing types.

    Employment pass (EP) holders are generally less exposed to the worksites and live in non-communal premises.

    Employers who have workers affected by the SHN are required to make arrangements for these workers during the SHN period, including the provision of food and to take care of their well-being. The workers are advised to immediately consult a doctor if they are unwell.

    example: ang kumpanya ay kasama sa tuloy ang trabaho, pero yung mga subcon ng kumpanya, halos lahat, ay hindi ngayon pumupunta para gumawa dahil sa cb

    kung base dyan, ang kumpanya kung saan ka gagawa ang kailangang kumuha ng permit para sayo through your company

  • Hi anyone here still waiting for spass result? Mine was Rejected less than 24 hours after spass application and appealed on the same day that the result came out. The reason was (Your application was not successful. If your candidate is currently in Singapore, you may wish to submit an appeal for our consideration...) Im on my 1st week of waiting for my appeal. Thanks and stay safe everyone. :)

  • @juanderer Kailngan mo po ng approved MTI certificate na mag work through CB. Kagaya ng mga ibang vendors namin, nag apply sila ng MTI approval kasi hindi sila considered essential service pero kailangan nilang mag support sa amin na considered essential service.

  • @ladytm02 under shn ung husband ko. tas tntawagan sya ng MOM, videocall. tntanong din ng MOM kung ineensure ng company na may food sya at daily needs. natawagan knb? pag tinawagan ka, iraise mo kaya concern mo. lalo ngayon extended ang shn sainyo another 14days. how to live? ung sa husband ko pala, 450sgd ung pangkain na bigay ng company for 2wks.

  • @msidyllic status? pass? lokal? PiAr? kung pass po, mahirap makipagsapalaran kasi baka hindi/hindi agad makabalik dahil need pa ng entry permit. kahit po yung mga ibang taga-kabilang tulay ay hindi makakuha ng permit

    PiAr may kakilala ako pero hindi Pinoy. nakabalik dito pero syempre, may 14 days quarantine pagbalik bago nakapasok ng work

    for me po, not worth the risk. unless ok lang na hindi makabalik if ever man mangyari ito

  • @maya and @kabo , salamat sa info. oo tinawagan na ako ng MoM, video call nga. So far once pa lang. Ngayon lang nakacheck ulit dito kasi sobrang busy, mas dumami ang works nung CB.. anyway, sayang di ko nabasa comment nyo, na-raise ko sana sa MoM. Extended na ang CB pero wala tlgang offer ng assistance sa amin, so sad. Pero ok lang, tanggap ko na. masaya na lang ako na may trabaho pa ako at sumasahod sa panahon na ito.

    @Teddy walang rebate na binigay, di rin ako nag-eexpect. nahihiya rin kasi ako na dahil WFH ako, sigurado tataas ng konti ang PUB nila, kuryente sa pagwowork, water sa pagfflush ng toilet, gas sa pagluluto (na dati di ko naman ginagawa). saka kinausap ko ung landlord ko, PR sya. sabi nya wala daw rebate pag PR.. singaporean lang daw..

  • @ladytm02 tama ka. give and take lang. samin nga yung kasama ko pa nag-offer na magdagdag sila for utilities kasi wfh din sila. all-in kasi yung bayad nila. pero sa ngayon, carry pa naman

    forced leave sa husband ko, pero 2days pa lang pinafile. ok lang yan, basta malagpasan natin tong crisis na may work pa rin. ung friend ng housemate ko mag-isa na lang daw naiwan sa bahay nila dahil wala na work ung iba. so bayad nya din buong house lalo anghirap maghanap ng housemates ngayon.

    isipin mo na lang na better na yung forced leave/pay cut kesa retrenchment
