Tips for applying Permanent Resident (PR)

Way back early 2009, it was still easy to get a PR in Singapore. Regardless the race, ICA simply approve applicants. However during the mid year of 2009, it has gotten more difficult to get approved for some unknown reason. for last year, I've known some friends who got approved but very few of them got a good result, based on the people i know who got approved and summing up their credentials, seems like people will get approved, if ...

1. 5 or more years living in Singapore
2. 3 or more tenure or working in the company
3. Salary is above 5k SGD
4. Got involved in Community / Environmental Volunteer Services.
5. Has a lot of Certificates from Training and Seminars
6. Good Moral Certificates from a known Organization or Parish

These are the things I've got from the successful applicants. How about you? Did you got approved as well? would you mind sharing your credentials?

The last year it was easy to get a PR was i think year 2009, hard to tell what their criteria is now. I have a friend whom they applied their 2yrs Girl for PR and got approved. But they are migrating soon to Australia. Sana sa anak ko na lang napunta as we plan to stay long here in SG.

Mid of 2009,naghigpit na sila that was my son rejected his PR application. We tried 3x already 2009,2010 and 2011,lagi rejected kaya LTSVP during that time (from 1 year old to 6 years old) and thanks God naging Student pass na nung nagP1 na sya this year. Imagine,yearly kami nagrerenew ng LTSVP and now up to 2021 nya yung student pass nya. Wala pa kami plans kung apply PR since may student pass naman sya.yun nga lang iba na yung rate school fee pagdating nya P3.Sa ngayon PR rate pa gaya ng panganay ko sa P5.Hopefully dn mag increase school fee.Naabutan pa namin yung 22 then 33 tapos 55 at nagjump na sa 103. :-t

Mga Kababayan need ko po help at advise ninyo sa mga oras na eto. Meron akong appointment sa ICA for PR application nextweek. Kanina nag check ako sa HDB ng aking residential address dito sa singapore. Napag alam ko na hindi pala ako registered sa tinitirhan ko ngaun, nasa may ari naman ng bahay ang kopya ng Pass ko at nag sabi ako na e-register ako.

Meron akong PR application next week, makak-apekto kaya eto sa application ko? dahil hindi ako nakaregister sa HDB as sub tenant dito sa tinitirhan ko? Mejo nakakapag isip dahil kanina ko lang nalaman na ganoon pla and sitwasyon ko sa bahay. Syang ang mga credentials na naihanda.

Humihingi po ako sa inyo ng advises at recommendation po... Marami po salamat...

@zedfrey hindi naman tingin ko. ang basehan number one is race mo. pag Filipino alam mo na namababa ang chance. bakit? according sa assessment ng iba sa dating site.

1. Chinese xx%
2. Malay xx%
3. Indian xx%
4. Others x%

meaning maliit lang talaga ang percentage para sa ibang lahi. and take note ang mga puti at nag fafall sa Others na Race. hindi natin alam kung ilan ang hatian bawat race na hindi kabilang sa 1 to 3, so possible na mahirapan makapasok.

not to discourage anyone here but I am a PR, pero mag-ina ko di maaprove approve PR nila,kahit LTVP. 8 years PR din ako turning 9yrs next year... my advice is.. prepare for Plan B (auz/nz/canada)

there's still hope in becoming a SPR---dont lose hope mga kakabayan! got mine approved last July 13, 2016.
Date of Application: October 5, 2015 - after 9 months of waiting..

@Admin , got approved after 3 attempts - 2009 , 2012 & 2015 ---- after each rejection, nag wait talaga ako ng ilang years bago apply ulit. cguro isa yon sa malaking factor--nakikita nila na hindi ka atat na atat na magiging PR. try lng ng try --- walang mawawala. tiwala lang sa sarili and sabayan na din ng konting dasal.

@wildflower22 , pwede po ba maka ask nang mga infos? Kasi I applied 2 times already, and was rejected. Late 2010, early 2014 kasama anak ko at rejected din. Last 30 September 2016, we had our PR Application again and hopefully after few months of waiting makapasa na. Nakakaapekto ba ang sahod for PR Application? Kasi di ko alam ang salary bracket nila para papasa. We are living here in Sg for 6.5 years now. Actually ang wife ko PR na since 2008. She sponsored our PR APPLICATION with my son 2014, and recently September 2016.

@cyclops0812 --- i think malaking factor ang salary sa PR Application. I've been in Sg since 2007 and still working in the same company (MNC) since then as an Accountant. In between those rejected applications , i have been promoted several times and had salary increase almost every year. Di ko rin alam ano pa ang basis ng ICA sa approval...kung PR naman ang wife mo cguro may chances pa---dont lose hope...malay mo swertehan ka this time just like me..walang impossible ky God...

Mahirap po talaga hulaan kung ano mga malaking criteria sa pagpili nila. May kaibigan ako na halos 20k kada buwan ang combined na sahod nilang mag asawa pero rejected pa din. Dalawang boys ang anak nila. IT din sila pareho.

balita ko..but not reliable,,kung ikaw ay isang pinoy mataas ang hinahanap nila,,kailangan single(no excess baggage), yung profession mo ay hindi common(pero indemand dito sa SG) or ikaw ay specialist (like researcher, specialist doctor, scientist ), mataas ang sahod at medyo matagal na sa SG, 30 anyos pataas...

@Admin nope pure pinoy po, 36 yrs old, single, 9 yrs in sg, never naglipat ng ibang company since dumating ako last 2007 (SPASS to EP) , every 2 yrs lang umuuwi ng pinas...hope this will help.

Kabayan..any ideas

I am applying for PR and my appointment is next month.I have some few questions na linawin.
1.)Kailangan ba ang application mu handwritten or pwde type written.
2.Dito na ako nag work for 5 years umalis lang ako ng 2 months nag NZ ako pero umuwi dahil ayaw ng mrs ko don maganda na kasi trabahu nya dito.Pwde koba isulat sa work experience ko ung sa NZ for two moths la akong certificate pero may work visa namn ako at may letter ako pinayagan ako magbakasyon noon pero di na ako bumalik.Need koba e declared.
3.Marami akong mga technical training pero lang certificate.need ko ba isulat o hindi na.How about ung current Online Training ko.

guys wag na kayong umasa.. PR ako since '07 pero di ma approve approve ung family ko maski LTVP.. ung isang housemate ko, family of 4, lahat PR except yung bunso na born na dito ha! take note! LTVP lang binigay sa kanya

so walang basis sila.. pana-panahon lang.. walang kwenta dito

Couple PR simula 2007, RC member yung lalaki at active sa community, may anak na panganay na lalaki PR din at nag aaral na dito elementary student, may HDB na sila dito. Yung bunso anak nila dito pinanganak (boy), pero LTVP lang din ang binigay,

chambahan lang talaga. feeling ko may say ang officer. kung mabait or hindi. take note. ung pr sa ibang bansa na may point system need to pay compared sa SG, pag na PR ka wala kang babayaran malaki kung hindi IC at reentry permit lang ata if my memory serves me right. so talagang JAckpot ka kung ma- approve ka dito.

Dati noon isang araw lang ang approval ng pr. Nagpapadala pa ng sulat na naghihikayat na maging pr or lokal. May mga kilala akong dati inalok na mag pr at tinanggihan nila at nung nagdecide na silang maging pr, di na rin ma approve. Malaki kasi kailangan nilang manpower noon at konti lang ang may gusto. Ngayon naman masyadong maliit na ang kota at madaming nag aapply. Maliit lang ang sg compared doon sa mga ibang bansa.
